Tayip Erdogan began his political career trying to make his country the leader of all the Arab and Muslim world. He strongly criticized Israel, he forged an alliance with Assad of Syria, he became the “protector” of Palestinians, he developed a strategic partnership with Moscow.
Now, he has reversed nearly all his policies and he tries to save himself by allying with Israel. But his new found allies will help him to keep power, or they will take what he will give them, waiting for the time to support another politician, even more friendly to them? Time will tell us.
