A German teacher killed his family and then himself with an illegal handgun after his wife’s bosses found out he had faked her vaccine pass and threatened to ‘rigorously pursue’ him over it, it has been revealed.
The 40-year-old, identified only as Devid R., was found dead alongside wife Linda, also 40, and daughters Leni, 10, Janni, eight, and Rubi, three, at their house in Senzig, 20 miles south of Berlin, on Saturday.
Devid, a vocational teacher, is believed to have shot his wife and daughters using the illegal firearm in the middle of the night before turning it on himself. Each of the girls was found dead in their own bedroom, prosecutors have said.
He left behind a lengthy note in which he talked about faking a vaccine passport for his wife who worked at the Technical University in nearby Wildau, before the forgery was uncovered by her bosses who threatened to ‘rigorously pursue’ the case.
