MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. The Kiev authorities ordered the drone attack on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) lawmaker Artyom Dmytruk said.
“I have only one question about the incident with the drone that attacked the Chernobyl NPP. Was the remote control in the hands of [Vladimir] Zelensky or [Zelensky’s head of office Andrey] Yermak?” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov earlier called the Ukrainian accusations that a Russian drone had allegedly hit the destroyed power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant at night and damaged the protective sarcophagus ‘another fraud.’ Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the accusations against Russia of hitting the Chernobyl nuclear power plant were a provocation planned by Kiev ahead of the Munich Security Conference. Zakharova recalled that “last year before the Munich Conference there was a provocation in the form of a ‘strike’ on a children’s hospital in Kiev.” And it was this provocation, according to her, that Zelensky “brought up as an excuse for his next plea for help and money.”.
