“I consider the brutality of this decision to be condemnable.” The leader of the National Rally (RN) deputies, Marine Le Pen, detailed her position on the halt of American aid to Ukraine this Tuesday, March 4, in an interview with Le Figaro.
The parliamentarian expressed her support for Volodymyr Zelensky’s country and the soldiers fighting against Russia, while condemning Donald Trump’s decision. “It is highly questionable not to give Ukraine a reasonable amount of time to adjust […] It is very cruel for the Ukrainian soldiers engaged in the patriotic defense of their country,” she said, while also stating that “no one can force the United States to maintain their support if the country no longer wishes to do so
“Consequences of Europe’s Submission”
According to Marine Le Pen, “the halt in weapons deliveries is less problematic, as it can be compensated for, compared to the halt in support in the areas of intelligence, technological, and digital assistance” provided by Washington to Kyiv.
“We are witnessing the consequences of Europe’s digital submission to the United States,” she pointed out in Le Figaro. Before reiterating her strong opposition to the “chimera” of a “European defense,” or even to “sending French troops to Ukrainian soil.”
