Former Chancellor Angela Merkel has said about the war in Ukraine and Vladimir Putin that his words must be taken seriously, according to the Suddeutsche Zeitung:
“You must take his words seriously. Taking his words seriously, not dismissing them as a bluff, but taking them seriously is by no means a sign of weakness, but a sign of political wisdom, which helps to preserve the space for maneuver or just as important, even to develop a new one.
