Tempi Prosecutor alleges her son was “victim of criminal act”

Just a few hours after the body of missing 39-year-old Vassilis Kalogirou was found in a remote area, his mother, a prosecutor investigating the Tempi tragedy, openly alleged that her son was the victim of a criminal act.
In a shocking post on social media, mother Sofia Kalogiou, the Larissa appeals prosecutor investigating the Tempi train collision, wrote adding a picture of her beloved son from careless days:
“Cheers! I am Vassilis you have been searching for. With God’s grace I found the Paradise and looking at Jesus whom I love very much. You who threw me on the mountains to the wild animals and your mean-tempered boss, what kind of the you will have, I wonder?”

A recent ALCO poll for Greek broadcaster Alpha TV highlights the extent of public dissatisfaction. Support for the ruling New Democracy (ND) party continues to decline, while 72% of respondents believe authorities are trying to hide the truth about the disaster. Analysts suggest the political fallout from the tragedy is ongoing, with no clear government strategy to regain public trust.
