The German architect Harald Jochums, friend of our website, has addressed the following mail to the German Foreign Minister
To the Minister of Finance, Mr. Wolfgang Schäuble – personally – Open Mail

Dear Mr. Schäuble,
I would like to extend my best thanks for confirming the judgement I passed on your person in my mail of 7th Feb 2016.
First you drive with Greece another country into the abyss (with a little help of your friends from the EU), and now you don’t move even a finger to help our Greek friends to alleviate the refugees’ catastrophe, but instead you give out a terse statement that it is „a difficult situation“.
And you have put some more coal into the fire from a safe distance. When Mr. Gabriel (SPD), in the face of the necessary support for refugees, demanded also more financial support for the poor in our country, fearing otherwise social tensions, you called it stupid talk and, more than that, „simply lamentable“.
Your own remarks sound lamentably merciless – and they are in fact. I’m not sure at the moment whether I myself should have mercy, mercy for merciless people, that is. It seems to me rather a matter for philosophers or theologians who can probably tell me.
And, to end this mail, do you have any idea what is inside a big O, whether it be black or red or green? It’s a big, big, empty hole.

For a better understanding: Schäuble is particularly proud that he has reduced the debts in „his” budget to zero and has called this the „black O”. He is a member of the strictly conservative party which is associated with the colour black in Kontrast to the colour red of the left. Black and nought fit together perfectly. –

Betr:: Griechenland, die zweite
Herr Schäuble,
herzlichen Dank, daß Sie meine in meiner Mail vom 7.2.16 beschriebene Einschätzung betreffs Ihrer Person bestätigt haben. –
Erst treiben Sie maßgeblich ein weiteres Land in den Abgrund (hier: Griechenland, ich berichtete), und nun rühren Sie keinen Finger, unseren griechischen Freunden bei der Flüchtlingskatastrophe zu helfen, sondern lassen lapidar vermelden: “Schwierige Situation”.
Sie haben aber nochmal aus sicherer Entfernung nachgelegt: Als Herr Gabriel (SPD) angesichts der Unterstützung für Asylsuchende forderte, auch mehr Geld für die armen Menschen in unserem Land bereitzustellen, u.a. weil er zurecht soziale Spannungen befürchtete, nannten sie das “Gerede”, das zudem auch noch “erbarmungswürdig” sei.
Ihre Aussagen hören sich ziemlich gnadenlos an – und sind es wohl auch. Ob ich damit noch Erbarmen haben soll, weiß ich im Augenblick nicht abschließend zu sagen. Gnade für gnadenlose Menschen? Werde mal einen Philosophen und/oder Theologen befragen müssen. –
Und wissen Sie, was inmitten einer Null ist, sei sie nun schwarz, rot oder grün? Ein großes, großes, leeres Loch …
