Germany Not to Side With Washington Automatically if US-DPRK War Erupts – Merkel
Berlin will not automatically take Washington’s side in case of a military conflict between the United States and North Korea, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said according to Handelsblatt.
The chancellor emphasized she did not see a possibility to resolve the North Korea crisis by means of military actions and would consider them absolutely wrong. She added the international community should not resort to military options.

Social Democratic Party Leader Schulz Vows to Axe US Nukes in Germany if Elected
Martin Schulz, the leader of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) and candidate for the post of German chancellor, has vowed to ask Washington to withdraw US nuclear weapons from German territory if he defeats Chancellor Angela Merkel in federal elections next month.Schulz made the pledge at a campaign event in Trier, western Germany on Tuesday.
“As chancellor, I will commit Germany to having the nuclear weapons stationed here withdrawn from our country,” the SPD leader said.
