Robert Fisk, the Beirut based veteran correspondent of the British “Independent” for the Middle East has written a very interesting article comparing the situation with ISIS with the stand of the United States on the question of the Armenian genocide, in the beginning of the 20th century. He is also commenting, in his article, on the “special status” of Ankara, which permits it to enjoy a kind of “asylum”, even when revealed as dealing with dangerous terrorists. Of course, to be fair, most western powers and nearly all their Middle Eastern partners have engaged in close cooperation with ISIS, before they discover, in great “surprise”, its nature.
