According to all indications, tomorrow’s massive mobilization of the Greek people, with gatherings in over 350 cities across Greece and abroad where Greeks reside, along with a general strike, will be one of the largest ever organized since the establishment of the Greek state!
This mobilization is spearheaded by the association of relatives https://tempi2023.gr/ of the victims of the major railway accident that occurred on February 28, 2023, in Tempi, in the Greek region of Thessaly https://www.defenddemocracy.press/73321-2/, demanding justice and the full disclosure of the truth about the accident.
Initially, it was believed that the deaths were caused by the collision of the trains. However, it was later revealed that a massive explosion and fire had occurred, which cannot be explained by the officially declared nature of the cargoes carried by the trains. The government and the judiciary have done everything to cover up this fact, but today, the available evidence supports the theory that the train was transporting undeclared smuggled fuels. Meanwhile, other theories circulate also on social media and/or supported by political leaders, suggesting explosives transported by the Israeli company ZIM or fuels intended for use of drones operating form the U.S. base in Larissa, though none of this has been confirmed or debunked, especially since the Greek government is doing everything in its power to obscure the case.
The situation has been further complicated by three suspicious deaths: of two senior officials of the Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE) who were killed in car accidents just before testifying and the son of a prosecutor who was abducted and found dead. In the same time, videos and posts circulating online contain statements from a former President of an athletic club, implicating individuals close to Prime Minister Mitsotakis in the smuggling of illegal fuels.
A few years after the attack on Greece by the Troika (EU, ECB, IMF) and SYRIZA’s and Anel’s humiliating surrender, Greece, now without the strength to resist, appears to have surrendered to organized crime forces, deeply intertwined with the existing state system.
As a result, millions of Greeks in Greece and abroad, the absolute majority of the Greek people, are mobilizing tomorrow, Friday, with gatherings in over 350 cities across Greece and abroad, as well as with an unprecedented participation to the general strike.
Gatherings are planned even in the smallest towns and very small islands of the country, or even cities in Argentina, Australia or Tanzania! About 60% of the total Greek population states in polls that they intend to participate in the gatherings. Nearly all labor unions and the vast majority of professional groups will join, and even nightclubs have decided to close. In some prisons across the country, inmates will go on hunger strike in solidarity to the parents of the victims of the train crash and the explosion and protesting against the cover up.
Despite all this, the Mitsotakis government (also responsible for a massive wiretapping scandal, which ultimately turned out to be a spying scandal in favor of Israel) is pretending not to understand what is happening in the country. The same goes for the leadership of the judiciary, appointed by MItsotakis himself. Devastated by the attacks of the “collective West” (Germany, EU, IMF, USA, Goldman Sachs, and other major banks) through the “bailout programs”, disheartened, disillusioned, and betrayed by its successive leaders (PASOK, ND, SYRIZA – ANEL), Greek society has been abruptly awakened by the Tempi scandal, realizing that the country is at risk of total destruction, that no citizen is safe, that there is not any form of justice, that the country is turned into a more and more poor European “Colombia”.
This may be Greece’s last chance to save itself.
PS: Let us not forget once again to congratulate Angela Merkel and her sadistic minister Schäuble, François Hollande, the IMF, and Obama, the so-called Greek “elite,” as well as the so-called “left,” for their contribution to the destruction of Europe’s most historic country and its surrender to the most inhumane forces of the corrupt European right!
